People on the go

Simona and I have had a fantastic last three weeks styling two beautiful editorials. I haven't been able to get out on the streets lately, which explains my lack of posts. But I always have my camera nearby. So one day, on the way to an appointment, I saw this amazing ray of color zoom by my taxi. I was giddy with laughter trying to snap her before she escaped my view. If you are familiar with Piazza Cadorna here in Milan, you are aware of how hectic the traffic is. Automobiles racing around the roundabout and scooters and bicycles weaving in and out of the energetic flow. It was quite exciting to capture her.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

Simona, Dani, and I are shooting a super-exciting editorial this weekend. We're super amped and are looking forward to two days of intense creativity. I hope you enjoy your weekend too!

EDOARDO

Military Casual. One of my all-time favorite looks. The uniform-green pants are the key-I've been wearing the same pair of camouflage pants for the last eight years. The moss green-stripe button down, serious amunition. The cream blazer, 98˚ in the shade. The boat shoes, forever cool tried and true.

young beauty

Colonne di San Lorenzo, Milan
When I first laid eyes on her, I was moved by her raw beauty. Her style, ‘80s come geek chic.  Dressed in jeans and a tank top under her motorcycle jacket,  her complexion and hair color reminded me of a Calvin Klein-era Brooke Shields. Her willowy figure, of Daryl Hannah.

intrinsic elegance

Ever look at someone and get the sensation that they were born elegant? That they didn't grow into their style, or develop an air of fashion confidence along the way? That’s the feeling that I got when I spotted Guido.

Even in this casual look- it was a Saturday afternoon and he was strolling through my neighborhood- his appearance is refined.  Every aspect is sophisticated…his haircut, sunglasses, espadrilles, the bag. I see the tank top and it doesn't bother me. And yes, it’s arguable that his outfit is only classic beachwear, but not everyone can pull it off as well as he does. I would love to see him on a Wednesday. You?

Salone del Mobile

Here are a couple on-the-street images from this year’s Salone del Mobile. For those of you who aren’t familiar, it is one of the most exciting design trade shows on the planet. So highly revered, it brings more visitors to Milan than any of the runway collections. Powerhouse design firms like Cassina, DePadova and Cappellini produce masterful installations and throw their doors open to the masses. Boutique design galleries like Understate, Luisa Delle Piane, Rossana Orlandi, and robertaebasta create superbly whimsical installations that feature emerging designers as well as antiques. And what would a party be, without celebrities? On hand to unfold new projects are masters such as Zaha Hadid, Karim Rashid, and Vladimir Kagan. I actually bumped into Rashid one morning on via Tortona, one of the principle event addresses. He was wearing his trademark hot pink suit and even had a matching ring. Trust me, this first thing in-the-morning encounter was better than a cappuccino topped with the finest dark chocolate.

Sporty Chic

Top spot on the podium for this look. The rose tinted sunglasses garner only cheers from this cheerleader. The pairing of the season's tuxedo jacket with this striped swimsuit is a hit of the foil. The beige/black combo, a bonus point. The green mini...the last leg to victory in a relay race. All 10s for a good show of fashion sportsmanship.
