Darling

TellyPortrait

Telly is such a darling- she's young, super adorable and passionate about fashion. I love her young and laid back style- so fresh. She looks so sweet in her boyfriend blazer, silk-checked blouse, shorts and delicate ribbon sandals. And I don't have to tell you how much I love her bag.

black leather, leopard silk

black leather, transparent black

BlackInsp

Here are two images that have inspired me lots this summer. I love Sophie's look (above), because I became a huge fan of short leather shorts last fall when I found a sweet little pair at et vous. I wear mine all the time, during blizzards and especially in the rain. I also love Sophie's choice of top- the curved shoulders and texture are key. And last, but definitely not least, I love her bucket style bag.

Suzanne

I admire Suzanne's look for its simplicity: a floor-sweeping shift layered over a shorter tank dress (length play always scores big points with me). Her dress also reminds me of the transparent pieces that Alexander Wang sent down the runway this Spring. I would have loved a pair of those transparent jog pants.

icon faded blue, cut and torn... and more

iconbluecutandtorn

Did you ever think that the cut-off jean (a frayed slither here on Jessica) would ever reach its current position as an iconic symbol of cool? These "denim panties," as Daria Veledeyeva, EIC of Harper's Russia, calls the wardrobe staple of her friend and colleague Natalia Alaverdian, are a product of the grunge era, a Kate Moss favorite, an off-duty model must and a music-festival uniform, are still going super-strong on the streets and have made their way onto the racks of retailers such as J-Crew and Club Monaco. And I'd place a small wager that they will be around for a little while longer. I myself am day dreaming of layering them over oatmeal and grey Wolford tights in the fall. You?

iconbluecutandtorn1

And the more: great inspiration for fall accessories by way of Jessica's vintage bag and boots.
As I get in the mood to hit the stores for a little "back to school" shopping, Jessica's vintage handbag comes as the perfect source of inspiration. I want to show you a bag that I think I'll pick up at Barney's tomorrow (in case you didn't know, my family and I have been in East Hampton since the beginning of the month. My husband says that I should go into the city tomorrow for some shopping, he's had enough of me. Gosh darn it. Being forced into the city for shopping! Who does he think he is?). The bag is by J.W.Hulme, what do you think? If you're interested in checking out some of their other bags, visit J.W.Hulme Co.

But, it's really Jessica's boots that I am drooling over. Yes I used the term drooling. Don't you? I've decided that I am going to O.D. on this style this season. Here are links to my top-three choices: Chloe, Proenza Schouler and A.P.C. Which ones do you like?? I think that they are a chic solution to prevent fashion week-induced achy feet.

Elle Italia look of the day

Eve

Hey guys, the lovely people at Elle.it have asked me to collaborate on a street style section for their readers. So, to start, we decided to feature some of their own stylists who are known for their amazing style. And I can't express my delight when I met my first subject Eva Fontanelli!!!

Glasses

Admired internationally for her whimsical style, Eva was a pleasure to work with. And even though I had seen her around during fashion week and was very familiar with her look, I was nonetheless blown away by her profound talent and creativity.

Duck1

These are some of my favorite images from our collaboration. Eva is a riot, she literally transformed herself into another character for every shot. We had the BEST time ever, and I got tons of cool outfit ideas from the experience! Check out our other fun pics here, and I'll let you know when more images are added.

Max Mara Atelier

IMG_6441

A few weeks ago while walking home from an appointment, I passed Max Mara which had recently dressed its window to display its Fall 2010 sun glass collection. The collection is gorgeous, but what really caught my eye was the first few pieces of outerwear used in the display. After the dominant presence of camel and fur coats/fur accents on the Fall 2010 runways, I had decided early out (in March) that it was an absolute must that I visit the incredibile Italian fashion house to pick up a coat for the fall. Seeing these few pieces in the window amplified my excitement for what was to come and jogged my memory about the house's Fall 2010 Atelier collection of coats that I had the pleasure of viewing back in March.

Camel

The collection of "made to measure" sartorial beauties includes these two key fall looks. This camel coat is an exquisite example of feminine-meets-masculine. The coat, inspired by the traditional men's dress coat, is tempered with a feminine silhouette along the waist and is accented with a superbly draped collar. The grey coat also takes cues from men's wear and is fabulously decorated with a luxe fur hem. Both coats are sophisticated and timeless, qualities that are synonymous with the Max Mara design aesthetic. If there is one thing that I have learned since moving to Milan, it's that Italians know their outerwear. I feel like with two coats like these in your closet, you could fulfill not only all your Fall 2010 outerwear needs but also those of the not-so-near future. What do you think?

Giudita

Giudita

I have been enamored with Giudita's sense of style from the day I met her near the Duomo in Milano.

Guidita1

Her style is very confident, her mix of basic pieces with of-the-moment items like her vintage doctor bag, effortless. Her style is totally unaffected, she indulges in fashion to satisfy only her inner self.

Giudita2

All of these qualities scream at me whenever I bump into her.

peach, leather and lucite

SaraG

That's all you need to create an effortlessly chic look when you are as cool as Sarah Grittini of L'Uomo Vogue.

the blouse and the suede short

Victoria1Victoria2

The super-stylish Victoria's look is so 2012. It's now (summer-western, love the belt!); it's fall seventies-inspired; and in my opinion, the transparent blouse should never go away.

Christine and her style

ChristineCentenera2

I was going though my images this weekend for a project that I am working on and came across these images of the seriously stylish Christine Centenera of Harper's Bazaar Australia. She always has the most incredible accessories and outerwear. Above and below in Resort 2010's most covetable Celine jackets.

ChristineCentenera3

I also love that she is a huge supporter of emerging Australian designers like Dion Lee. Below, the design of her black, grey and white jacket by the designer reminds me of a star burst and goes so well with her wrap-around-the-foot Givenchy sandals.

black stripes and fluo accents

Helena

Helena's white and black stripe dress, from Gina Tricot, is the perfect little thing for hot summer days. Her fluo orange watch and the green fluo 5 on her Established & Sons tote are the perfect burst of color. Her Moheda woven clogs throw the look off in the right direction, so it isn't too coordinated that is.

Ageless beauty

AndreaDellal

Andrea Dellal is a picture of elegance and grace. I've decided that I'm going to look this good when I'm her age. Stop, don't laugh, I'm serious! I think that I can achieve this. I've already got a beauty plan. I'll never sip on a glass of wine again (hmm!). I'll drink and bathe in coconut water. I'm Jamaican, I used to drink coconut water on the beach from the shell after the top had been chopped off with a machete (if you've ever been to Jamaica, you know that's the real deal, so refreshing). Well, yesterday I picked up a case from Citarella. It's funny to see how much of a marketing fad it's become. And finally, I'll design a machine that constantly streams açaí mist into my home. Ha ha, day dreaming is so much fun!!! Back to reality, Senhora Dellal is a magnificent fount of style inspiration.

In the Spirit of Denim

SuzanneKoller

After seeing the spread in Glamour, I started to think about my favorite denim looks for Spring Summer 2010. Here is one of my absolute favorites. Suzanne Koller of Self Service is utilitarian chic and effortlessly cool in this double-denim jumpsuit.
