Happy Halloween!

HaloweenP

My husband picked up this adorable Melissa & Doug "knight role play costume set" at Doodle Doo's for our son while in NYC this past week. Melissa & Doug is probably my favorite toy company, and Doodle Doo's is my favorite children's hair salon and toy store. Our friends at Doodle Doo's are so sweet, they always remember my son even though we only visit, at maximum, three times a year. It's one of my favorite places in NYC.

Maxi love part II

LouiseEbelP

LouiseEbel

The über creative Louise Ebel in a personal interpretation of the maxi-dress + moto jacket look. I love how she pairs this very feminine hat and these seventies-inspired sandals with this otherwise edgy/feminine look.

I could live in either

TOMBOY

Two of my favorite menswear inspired street style looks from SS11. I love the leg on the denim, the white button-down of course and the trench draped over her shoulders; the boots are also so up my alley. The three-piece checked suit is serious. She is totally effortless. The hat elevates the look to total bad-ass status. Excuse the language.

With a twist

Marie-VictoireDeBascherP

Marie-VictoireDeBascher

The title of illustrator Marie-Victoire De Bascher's blog, With a Twist, is also a fine way to describe her style. I love the way she layers this tweed blazer over a belted v-neck sweater and calf-length skirt adorned with the finest polka dots. Her hat, printed bag and cherry-red sandals mix to create the right twist.

P.S. I love all the hats that we've been seeing this season, especially Marie-Victoire's. Doesn't it remind you of the "outback" style hats? Super stylish!

If I knew that TTH would be pulling out all the fashion stops this FW, I would have worn a neck brace (can you imagine, maybe a embellished one, ooh!). I can't tell you how many times I experienced sensory disturbance after whipping my neck in compromising positions to fully take in her amazing style. Hey what ya gonna do? Occupational hazards. But seriously each look was a show stopper!

Maxi love

RowanLewis

RowanLewis1

Rowan's maxi-dress/motorcycle jacket combo is an all-time favorite look of mine. It's chic, it's feminine and it's got the right edge. And topped with this fedora, the look is downright fierce. In fact, this is one of the looks I feel most effortless in. I can't tell you how many times I've worn my personal combo of midnight blue maxi-dress and motorcycle jacket. I've worked the look day and night and several times a week. Hey, when it works, it works.

country charm

Nadia

Nadia1

Nadia2

I fell for Nadia's style on first glance. I love the way that she's styled her total vintage look. Equal parts cool, equal parts feminine and equal parts outdoors. In fact, I fell for her when she told me that she's living between the countryside and London. I've been looking for a country house for sometime now. Somewhere close enough to Milan where I can whisk my little man off to at a moments notice. Nadia and I already promised each other that she'll visit once I find my little country nest. For more of her incredible style, drop in on her at FrouFrouu.

Early Friday Evening

Adrianna

Bumped into Adrianna early yesterday evening while on a mission to find the perfect sheer t-shirt with my friend Haamacha. Her fresh-faced smile totally got me in the mood for the weekend.

The Sleeveless Trench

ZannaRoberts

I love the idea of the sleeveless trench. I really love that Zanna Robert's Tommy Hilfiger version is a mix between classic trench and sportswear. And I love the way Kate styles hers (it looks like the Celine SS 2010 trench-dress) over multiple layers. She's got a sportswear vibe going on mixed with a little grunge. Awesome styling!!!

Verdel

AnnaWintour

As the leaves fall from the trees outside, I begin to daydream of the ways that I will keep warm this winter.

SophiaGrace

While browsing my favorite sites for interesting and new winter staples, I came across London based Verdel.

Paola1

What caught my eye about this collection of hats, turbans and gloves is the fact that they are a stylish alternative to your typical cashmere beanie/skull cap; and that the long gloves are perfect for layering under short-sleeve coats and this season's amazing capes; plus, the gloves are also ideal for me as I prefer to go fingerless when shooting street style in the cold.

Paola

So, you can imagine that I didn't waste a minute in contacting Verdel to place an order. AND they were kind enough to send me a few styles to help me pick out a favorite.

Lauren

And on first contact, I was a fan. These hats and gloves are knitted with some of the softest cashmere I've ever experienced. And, the hats and turbans totally hold up their shape so you don't have to be bothered with readjusting throughout wear. More time looking and feeling hot, less time fiddling! :-) Hey, check them out if you are in search of a luxuriously soft and warm solution for protecting yourself from the cold this winter.

Bonjour Paris

Anne-Catherine2

This past fashion week I was really fortunate to snap some pictures of fashion student Anne-Catherine. Pictured here outside the Chanel show, she is totally Parisian-chic.

Anne-Catherine1

Her immaculately-feminine style is so alluring. I love her strong (signature) eyebrows, they remind me of Audrey Hepburn. In fact, her entire fashion situation in these images takes me back to "Funny Face."

Anne-Catherine

But her look is not too feminine as she effortlessly mixes feminine/masculine and feminine/edgy with this gorgeous bag that belonged to her boyfriend's grandpa and these killer Zara wedges.

Yasmin

Such a fitting handbag for lovely Yasmin. And God, how I would live in her look. Totally uniform worthy. Everyday material.

Is it legal

kiera

to be so darn beautiful? O.k. so I am majorly embarrassed here. I can't recall the name of this gorgeous girl. I know, it's totally unacceptable. But, no, you really don't know just how unacceptable. I'll share. First of all she is one of the nicest people I have ever met on the street. Second, she's a twin. Yes, there are two of them roaming around the U.K. Third, she's lucky enough to have access to all of her mother's vintage Equipment blouses. Fourth, she is absolutely adored by her boyfriend who ironed the Equipment blouse that she's wearing. And finally, her boss, Holli Rogers of Net-a-Porter thinks she's brilliant. And Holli did mention her name to me in Paris after I gushed on about how incredible I thought she was. Blah for me. Can I blame it on the fact that my Black Berry battery died as I was writing her info? Or that I was sleep deprived? Or that basically after the birth of P.J., my memory has been reduced significantly (my gynecologist says she gets this complaint all the time)? No?

I do remember, however, that her name starts with a K, and I want to say it's Kerry or Kiera. But aside from my faulty memory, I'm 100% sure that I love her combination of nude, olive, army green and wheat. Is that acceptable?

AbbeyLeeKershaw

I was thumbing through the September issue of Elle Italia when I came across a Chanel campaign featuring Abbey Lee Kershaw, and I remembered this photo that I snapped of her outside the Valentino Spring 2011 runway show. At the time, while I was snapping away, I was praying that it came out well. She is so amazing. Just stunning.

Not one of us, ha

BIACAbALTI

I was mentioning to Valentina of the Fashion Trotter that Bianca Balti, who is a native of Lodi, Italy (near Milano), must have Southern Italian ancestors as apposed to being from Northern Italy (Her skin is darker, she has more "exotic" features). Valentina responded by leaning in and whispering in my ear, "she can't be one of us, she's too beautiful." My cheeks tingle every time I think about the tone with which she said it. So funny.
