JoannaHillman550

Congratulations to one of my dearest style inspirations for her recent marriage to boyfriend Aram Green! Check out the images of the gorgeous editor's wedding on Harper's Bazaar. She looked stunning in an archive Rochas slip dress (LOVE!)!

Just in case you were wondering, Joanna's tassel earrings are by Eddie Borgo.

Taylor Tomasi-Hill

Taylor-Tomasi-Hill

It's been so inspiring observing Taylor's style evolve since the Scott Schuman first shot her years ago- her gorgeous sense of mix-n-match styling to the edgier pieces that she's embraced recently are always a treat. So excited to see where she'll take her style in her new role as Artistic Director at the retail site Moda Operandi.

Shala Monroque, Monday's Inspiration

ShalaM

I know how tough Mondays can be, especially after long holiday weekends like Thanksgiving. So here's a little pick me up by-way-of a gorgeous smiling Shala Monroque outside Castello Sforzesco here in Milan. How graceful is her stride? So Elegant!

You can transition her Summer look into a Winter outfit by throwing on a snug cardigan or cashmere crew neck sweater (J.CREW has the best ones), cinching the look at the waist with a thin belt, and by adding some opaque tights to keep your legs warm.

Have a great week! xx, Tamu

The Things I Saw Today

5KZ012_O3G_F01DP_F_120-1

CelineTrio

Cartier

book4_big

Here are somethings that I saw while out on an Saturday afternoon walk with the fam. (Thank god, they were super patient this afternoon).

I've had my eyes on these Miu Miu wedges for a while. I love the silhouette and the cipria color.

I popped into Celine to pick-up a trio for my best friend and discovered these new colors. I'm dying for them all! The trio has truly become my favorite bag. I rarely leave home without my wine color one.

I've never tried on the Cartier Love Bracelet so thought it would be a perfect moment to do so given my husband and son's unusual patience. I fell in love when I put it on.

I am an absolute sucker for impulse merchandise. I spotted this Ogami Collections Taccuino notebook at the cash register of the art store where we were picking up materials for our DIY holiday decorations. The line made from Repap includes four different quotes including the one shown here. I think this would be the perfect Holiday present for that loved one with an ironic sense of humor.

Hope that you are out and about and seeing things that inspire you.

Have a great weekend! XX

China Chow, Perfect look for Holiday Cocktails

ChinaChow

With the holiday season underway (hope that you had a lovely Thanksgiving), I've started to think about possible looks for the various cocktails that I will attend. For inspiration, I started to look through my images and came across this photo China Chow wearing Jason Wu. She looks so elegant. I'm seriously inspired by her lace-paneled top and her clutch.

Have you thought about what you'll be wearing this holiday season?

Candice Lake, Hat inspiration

CandiceLake

I remember the precise moment that I spotted Candice in her gorgeous Maison Michel hat. It was outside the Chanel SS12 show and I smiled instantly because she looked so cute. She's a huge fan of the brand designed by Laetitia Crahay, is often photographed wearing it's lovely designs, and Always looks stunning in them. Can't wait to see what model she'll wear next season.

P.S., Now that I think about it, it's been a while since I've picked up a new hat. Candice, any interest in going shopping? ;-)

Featured in Vogue.com's The Social Shopper

SocialShopper

My dear friend Hanneli and I were featured in Vogue.com's The Social Shopper this weekend. The feature was inspired by an image taken by another dear friend, Jason Jean of the lovely blog Citizen Couture. In the pic, Hanneli and I wear similar orange sweaters. Totally not planned and a fun surprise when we bumped into each other at the Tuileries in Paris, this coincidence is emblematic of the fashion relationship that friends develop over time. Like the Vogue.com piece states, "Spend enough time together and you’re sure to start finding inspiration in each other’s closets and—consciously or not—your looks will begin to morph." This is totally true, and what a better inspiration to have than the super stylish Hanneli.

Seeing the feature was an amazing way to start a beautiful Saturday. Thanks to Meredith Melling Burke and the lovely editors over at Vogue.com.

Stephanie LaCava ❘ Fierce, Fun and Feminine

StephanieLaCava2

Stephanie looks Parisian sleek in a Zac Posen blazer and ombre-backed skirt, Isabel Marant shirt, Ann Demeulemeester boots, her mother's eelskin clutch and Oliver People's sunglasses.

When I asked her about her inspiration for this look, she shared:
"You can't let anyone know what you're thinking. This is fierce from the front and it's fun, little more feminine when you turn around-- I love how Zac did shirring and ombre from tan to grey at the back of the skirt. PS- the lady next to me looks far cooler."

I couldn't agree more with Stephanie. I love a little mystery when it comes to fashion. I adore guessing a style inspirations next step, and I am seriously inspired by spontaneity in one's style (all traits for which Stephanie is admired).

Thanks Steph, can't wait to see what you have in store for us next fashion month!

Hanneli Mustaparta ❘ Bold Prints + Autumn Neutrals

<span class=

Hanneli takes a gorgeous step in a bold jacket + bustier combo from the SS12 collection of the amazingly talented designer Vika Gazinskya, complemented by an adorable Miu Miu collar, and chic autumn neutrals including a sleek pencil skirt and the Alexander Wang Lydia clutch. I'm so inspired by the chic color-blocking effect that the pairing creates.

Giovanna Battaglia ❘ Vintage YSL

GiovannaBattaglia

I remember seeing Giovanna after she nabbed this iconic vintage YSL tunic. She was so happy that she had found it. Me too, she looks stunning in it. Love how she styles it over a pencil skirt and pairs it with gorgeous black and white strappy pumps. Très Chic!

It's always amazing when you find gems like Giovanna's. Let me know if you find something special today at the markets or in the shops. Have fun!

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld ❘ Glowing

JuliaRestoinRoitfeld

News broke this past week that Julia is expecting her first child with boyfriend Robert Konjic. In this pic, Julia just glows outside the Rodarte SS12 show in a lovely floral mini. Love her accessories, the black with gold hardware adds a touch of chic-edge to the ladylike look. Congratulations to the gorgeous couple!

Jane Keltner deValle ❘ Sporty Chic

JaneKeltnerdeValle

It's looks like Jane's that get me up at 7 in the morning thinking of how I can get my hands on a particular item of clothing. I love her sweat shirt-plus-pleated leather skirt mix. As you may know, I'm very partial to chic sweatshirts. I have a really amazing Acne grey one that I wear all the time. But, it's really her leather skirt that has me strategically planning out my morning shopping. You see, I saw a gorgeous leather pleated Prada skirt at the beginning of the season that I painfully left on the rack. BUT now, I have a fun party this afternoon in Alba in Piedmont. All families, a billion babies, plus it's super chilly in the region this time of year. Jane's look is absolutely the perfect solution. Sporty chic top on top (good for running after four-year-old with intentions of destroying hostess's contemporary art installations); sleek, posh bottom for dual purpose of (1) impressing the other chic moms and (2) the just-above-the knee length will allow me to elegantly bend down to clean up the inevitable spilled cup of water. Hmm, hope that skirt is still there. Going to make a cup of coffee now. I've got a lot to do this morning.

Update: Jane's sweatshirt is by Jason Wu and her skirt by Junya Watanabe.

Retro Chic, Margherita Missoni

MargheritaMissoni

Margherita is retro chic in a bold mix of Missoni and Giambattista Valli. Her look brings me back to images of style icons during the late 60s.  I totally see Talitha Getty on the roof top in Marrakesh in the iconic Patrick Lichfield photograph, or Jackie O in a silhouette that she might have worn to an evening out at the Metropolitan Opera.

Faith

Faith

I was browsing through some fashion images the other day and came across a story on faith inspired-jewelry, e.g., crosses and other religious symbols. The piece immediately brought me back to this picture that I snapped after the Louis Vuitton SS12 show. Blue and black is one of the chicest combos ever and the white cross pops straight off her irreverently-short mini. What would the nuns say? I think that they would look the other way as this look is faithfully chic.

Caroline Issa

CarolinaIssa

Caroline makes a quick call to her office in a striking pair of Alejandro Ingelmo booties and gorgeous velvet blazer! Love her entire look! Her red belt and wine colored handbag add perfect pops of color and brilliantly complement the grey and olive in her look.
