Ter et Bantine Resort 2012 Sundress, Perfect for Island Breeze

My family and I are having a lovely time here in St. Barths. My son did some major swimming with some new friends yesterday (without his floaties!) And I am soaking up the sun and island breezes. I wore this super fun sundress by Ter et Bantine yesterday. How perfect is it for a breezy island day?

Shiona Turini, Wednesday's Inspiration

This morning while at breakfast, I couldn't take my mind of these two images of Shiona. Maybe it's because I wore the Dries Van Noten trouser version of the skirt she is wearing in the first pic to dinner last night; or, may be I'm inspired by all the yellows, greens and reds that I'm seeing here on St. Barths. Not only on a Wednesday, but also on Monday, Tuesday, and every other day of the week, she's a huge inspiration of mine. Always smiling, funny as hell (have you followed her on twitter, hilarious), she's incredibly well put together.

Kristina Gisors, always too cool for school

New Street Style on Grazia.it | Laetitia: From Milan to New York City

When Laetitia, long time P.R. goddess for Costume National, told us that she was moving to NYC, we were beyond excited for her. It was her long time dream to move to her mother's hometown. But being very familiar with Laetitia's amazing wardrobe, we immediately pondered about the pieces she would leave out of her trunks to get her through her very last days in Milan, and the ones she couldn't possibly live without while her suit cases cleared customs in the Empire city. Here is one of the looks she shared with us. To see other looks (I snapped the images in Milan)  head over to Grazia.it.  Thanks Laetitia, and have a wonderful time in beautiful NYC! I'm sure the city will fall in love with you.

Cute Stocking Stuffers at Paul Smith

I popped into Paul Smith this past weekend to pick up some Christmas presents for my friends and family (they carry the most amazing objects). And in addition to the lovely gifts I purchased, I found these sheep skin mitts and winged-heart socks. I think that they'll make the perfect stocking stuffers. Hope your Xmas shopping is going well!

Katie Shillingford, a little bit of glitter

I was so surprised when I saw these glittery booties poking out from under Katie's skirt. They're similar to the Giuseppe Zanotti ones that I have, but they seem to have zippers both on the inside and outside of the shoe. I never thought she would wear anything glittery. Although, now that I think about it, I saw a pic of her wearing the Miu Miu red glitter sunnies the other day. Either way, god I love surprises, especially ones that glitter!

Indigo Clarke, Stunning Vintage Style

Perfection is Indigo Clarke in this customized vintage dress. The dress which was originally longer looks amazing as a mini, especially with this lace sleep peeking out. And, her t-strap mary janes are the perfect way to complete the look!

Miao Miao, quirky style inspiration

I love Miao Miao's quirky style. There's always that one detail that side winks at you (come on, you know the one when you tilt your head to the side and bat those ashes). This time it's her lace-up/snake-print clog/wedges. Most of us would have probably worn a ballerina, a pair of kitten heels, a platform sandal, court shoes, or maybe even a lace-up, pointed bootie. But it's precisely these unpredictable choices that make shooting and observing street style so interesting. BTW, what would you have worn with Miao Miao's look?

Ramya Giangola, Thursday's inspiration

I recently got a new Joseph shearling pea coat (LOVE), I've been trying to wear it every chance I get (it it rained yesterday, boo!).  I love how Ramya pairs her Phillip Lim hybrid shearling jacket with this gorgeous Comme des Garçons bell-shaped skirt  for a sleek all leather look. Ive been dying to wear mine with a pair of flare suede trousers that I recently got. Well it's bright and sunny outside, so I guess today's my day.

Jenny Kang, Mixing the Lines

Totally inspired by the way Jenny mixes the contrasting lines of her Madewell top and Rag & Bone skirt. The combo is a brilliant take on classic black and white because the lines make the look pop. Also, love that she accents the black, white, gray and blue tones with gorgeous silver Alexander Wang loafers, but at the same time throws everything off with an amazing pale peach Mulberry bag.

Winnie: Inspiration Winter Florals

I was totally inspired by Fashionologie's (one of my favorite fashion reads) recent story on winter florals.  The gorgeously edited piece reminded me of this image that I took of Winnie this past Paris fashion week. I love the vibrant colors in Winnie's dress and adore the way she styles it with a chunky handbag (great contrast of sweet flowers and tough bag) and chunky beads.

I see red

From this lovely image of Vika Gazinskaya, to my Jordy by Jordan Askill Heart Birthstone and my Atelier VM Lip rings, to this sixties lamp, the red in this Moroccan rug, this occasional chair, to this deep red, velvet dressing gown, it seems like the color red was the only color I saw today.  I don't know if I'm inspired by all of the red associated with Christmas, or if red is just my color at the moment (remember my post featuring Ruby Aldridge?). What ever the reason, I'm really enjoying red right now.

Featured in HarpersBazaar.com's Get the Look

Hanneli and I were featured in Harper's Bazaar's Get the Look: Street Style Color Blocking in Paris.  The amazing image is compliments of Mr. Newton. I love the edit.  In fact, I've been eying the Carven sweater on the top left all season.  This is definitely one of my favorite fall looks.

Thanks to Kerry Pieri and all my wonderful friends over at Bazaar!

Welcome Back Sara!

This is Sara, our Fashion Editor over at Grazia.it. She just got back from her honeymoon. Twenty gorgeous days in New Zealand. I'm super-psyched that she and her husband enjoyed themselves, but  I'm also so happy to have her back. ;-).

The things I saw today at Bahama Mama

This morning I finally had the chance to experience the absolutely perfect Bahama Mama Taste Bar here in Milan. What do I think you ask? My experience surpassed all the positive things I had heard about it. Named after the famous cocktail and a bestseller color for the Essie nail polish  brand, Bahama Mama is an urban paradise the for the girl in us all or the man who loves to pamper himself. Founded by Gaia Venuti, Bahama Mama offers spa and beauty treatments using natural products by Dr. Vranjes, a bar complete with energy smoothies and various Tuscan treats, and a seriously impressive vintage collection. And, the decor is so utterly gorgeous that you'll be temped to leave your manners at the door and try to buy the countless decorative objects strewn exquisitely around the space off of Gaia. I took some pictures to share just how lovely the experience is.  Enjoy!

Christine Centenera, Effortless Style

ChristineCentanera

Christine Centenera after the Chanel SS12 Ready-to-wear show. When I complimented her on her look she responded, "Does it look OK? I was running late this morning, threw everything on and didn't have a chance to look in the mirror." Now that's what I call effortless style.

She wears a pair of beaded sandals from the Kanye West SS12 debut collection which she consulted on.
